Electronic-Grade Polysilicon Production Unit Successfully Applies Wuhan EPHE's Spiral Tube Heat Exchanger

Recently, it was learned from the official website of Asia Silicon (Qinghai) Co., Ltd. that the 60,000 t/a electronic-grade polysilicon Phase I project in Xining Economic Development Zone, Qinghai Province, successfully started production at once, with the first batch of high-purity polysilicon products successfully produced.

After undertaking the supply task of over 100 heat exchangers for the project, our company recommended to the owner and design institute that the key equipment for the tail gas recovery unit—the lean-rich liquid heat exchanger—adopt the high-efficiency spiral tube heat exchanger independently developed by Wuhan EPHE. The high-efficiency spiral tube heat exchanger has significant features such as a compact structure, small footprint, high heat transfer intensity, and high heat exchange efficiency. Through multiple technical exchanges with the owner, design institute, and other relevant parties, the technical characteristics and basis of the solution for effectively reducing investment and energy consumption were introduced, ultimately gaining recognition from all parties, who decided to accept our company's recommendation. The successful application of this device also marks another successful implementation of Wuhan EPHE's R&D project.

In recent years, with the proposal of the "dual-carbon" goals, vigorously advocating and developing renewable clean energy have become an inevitable path for China's reform and development. The photovoltaic industry is one of the most promising new energy industries, and polysilicon, as the main raw material for the photovoltaic industry, has a very broad market prospect. Currently, China's polysilicon production capacity accounts for about 90% of the global total, and photovoltaic module production capacity accounts for more than 95% of the global total. The rapid expansion of production capacity has brought opportunities for a new round of polysilicon projects. Since 2012, our company has focused on polysilicon production units, conducting technical comparisons and comprehensive analyses on the advantages, disadvantages, adaptability, and economic feasibility of replacing heat exchangers in cold hydrogenation, reduction, and distillation sections with spiral tube heat exchangers.

Currently, our company has provided spiral tube heat exchanger products to well-known polysilicon production enterprises such as Asia Silicon, Tongwei, GCL, and Xinjiang Jingnuo for cold hydrogenation and reduction sections.
